Case Study – Network Rail
Established in 2002 Network Rail took over the running of the UK’s rail infrastructure with seventeen key stations and 32,000 staff divided over eight regions.
A&D Corporate Clothing won the tender in 2004 through a combination of unique designs, high quality of products and a unique ability to service this contract nationally and an understanding of the marketplace.
The partnership between these two companies has been on of constant progression, initially with A&D supplying uniforms for signalling staff and then expanding to include main stations and various other areas of their ever-expanding business.
A&D’s philosophy has always been to start in one area of a client’s business, get it right while learning about the many facets of their business first before moving into other areas.
Management
A&D’s state of the art IT system and revolutionary Client Zone is used by Network Rail staff to allow them access all their details and have the ability to order from their own bespoke on line catalogue, as well as allowing them to monitor their orders in real time.
Bespoke KPI information is delivered in a monthly meeting and available on line throughout the month. A dedicated account manager visits stations on a regular basis to ensure any issues are raised and dealt with promptly.
Never satisfied with just delivering a quality product on time, the account management team have worked closely with Network Rail on constantly tweaking and evolving the uniform range.
New fabrications and design features have been added which have enhance not only the look and feel but also the performance of this range since inception.
Distribution
The delivery of these uniforms is more complex with some delivered directly to staff’s homes due to stations being located in more isolated areas of the country, whilst other uniforms are delivered directly to designated stations around the country. In total A&D successfully delivers 10,000 garments per year to Network Rail staff and on line proof of delivery has been made available.
The custom issue vans have been available for on site measuring and issuing at stations around the country.
We know the wheels never stop turning for Network Rail and so does their need for the right garment at the right time and place to make sure their staff always deliver that award winning service.
